Winter winds and high tides have deposited lots of trash on the Lordship Bluffs and Russian Beach - and areas around culverts are eroding (pending new plantings). So the Lordship Improvement Association (LIA) will conduct a Bluffs & Beach trash cleanup and rock moving event on Saturday, March 29, starting at 10am. If you can attend, please come with a garbage bag or two and wear gloves. Bring a Grabber tool, if you have one. And if you’d like to help moving rocks to the culvert areas, we’ll provide direction.
Also coming up soon:
Sunday, March 23: Help Eagle Scout Charlie Welch and Troop 76 install 21 bird nesting boxes to support migratory Tree Swallows. At the Lordship Bluffs, 10 am to noon.
Wednesday, March 26: LIA Committee Meeting, open to the public for LIA committee reports, and old and new business. At the Lordship Father’s Club Clubhouse, 21-1/2 Prospect Drive (next to the Firehouse), from 7 to 8pm. Agenda: https://bit.ly/AgendaMarch26Committees
May 3: Lordship Bluffs Restoration Project begins - with twice monthly workgroups (dates to be announced). You can just show up to help, or volunteer in advance by writing to LordshipIA@gmail.com. Prior to May 3, volunteers will be identifying native and invasive plants that are returning to the Bluffs slope. Big thanks to the many who’ve already volunteered!
