7 New Trees for Lordship Center ...

How to prevent vehicles from hitting the yellow protective guard rails at the Lordship building that houses the always busy Lordship Corner Market and the popular new Dal Mare Pizzeria? The building’s owner recently consulted about that with Kevin Regan, a professional landscape designer and chair of the Lordship Improvement Association’s (LIA) Beautification & Parks Committee. Kevin’s solution: 7 tall Emerald Green Arborvitae trees strategically placed behind the guard rails where drivers can’t miss seeing them. And Kevin planted them all today as an LIA project funded by the building owner. Each tree was planted in a large poly container that is double-insulated for four seasons, in a mix of topsoil, potting soil and compost. At the bottom of each planter, landscape cloth separates the rich mixture from pea gravel, which allows drainage through a hole at the bottom of the planter. Check ‘em out!

Note: LIA is a non-profit organization charged with maintaining and improving the beauty and environment of our amazing shoreline community. (www.LordshipCT.org)
