My name is Karen Dritenbas Essig.

 

I was born, raised and still live in Stratford.

 

I am married to Scott and we have two children, David and Diana, who have given us four wonderful grandchildren.

 

I have been painting since a teenager, after watching my very talented mother, who also enjoyed painting and inspired me to try.

​

I started in oil paints and over the years have learned to paint in watercolor, as well. I enjoy painting realistic images in my work. Recently I dabbled with acrylics.

​

I was commissioned many years ago to paint over 15 art pieces for Hersey Hotel in P.A. One can walk through their lobby or restaurant and see my work.

 

Now I am a retired nurse from Bridgeport Hospital after 45 years.

Many of my art paintings and designed note cards are available to purchase at the Lordship Corner Market.
