Emily has lived in Lordship since July of 1992 and loves everything about our special slice of heaven on earth! You can find her working in her yard, walking the beach and photographing all things nature! She is also a 30-year member of Lordship Community Church.

And you'll often see Emily and her garden co-captain Karen Kochiss planning, planting, weeding and mulching at Captain Kidd's Garden on the west end of the Lordship Bluffs. She and Karen have worked there for many years to create a sustainable perennial garden for all to enjoy.

Emily is recently retired from Guardian Life Insurance Company of America where she was a Financial Services Distribution Executive with a purpose and passion for securing the future of advisor distribution, transforming workplace culture, and leaving a legacy of diverse leadership for the company for the past 25 years.

While there, Emily built an industry-leading Leadership Development Program delivering bottom line results, including an increase in number of Managing Directors, and the movement of 60+ individuals to first-line leadership or bench readiness.

She also created Guardian’s strategy to attract, develop and advance women in distribution, believing strongly that female and diverse leadership is needed to turn the tide on increasing the diverse talent coming into the career as advisors.

In 2008 Emily received Guardian’s Field Service Award presented by the Field Advisory Board, comprised of Guardian General Agents. In 2009 she was honored by the national organization, Women in Insurance & Financial Services, as Woman of the Year. In 2015 she was honored by GAMA, a national industry association, with the Cy Pick Award for her contributions to the industry. And in 2018, Emily received the inaugural Industry Visionary award from GAMA for impact and advocacy for women in financial services.

Emily has two daughters: Molly, a DVM, DACVR at Central Veterinary Hospital, and Abbie, who works at Columbia University.
